What students say about our Yiddish classes |
|||
I have been trying to teach myself Yiddish for a couple of years, with not too much success. I was delighted when I came across eYiddish.org when I was surfing the web. This is a fantastic service which is run through Skype. It is well organised, responsive, reasonably priced and most importantly, focussed to my specific needs. My teacher is wonderful and the classes are always stimulating and enjoyable. I am being stretched without being overloaded. I have been given some ‘free tools’ to help me communicate more effectively over the Internet. I could not find a class like this at a time to suit me in London. I would recommend this approach to any busy professional who wants to open their horizons to the pleasures of Yiddish language and culture.

I have been studying Yiddish on my own for several years, living as I do in a small town where there are no opportunities to study Yiddish any other way. So when I heard about eYiddish.org, I was quite excited to give it a try, although I was apprehensive about studying at a distance. But the lessons have far exceeded my expectations - the possibility of learning with an outstanding teacher in the comfort of my own study, together with a small classroom of enthusiastic students, more than compensates for not being able to sit with them in the same physical location. I highly recommend it to any serious Yiddish student.

This was an excellent class to develop my speaking, reading and understanding skills in Yiddish. It was just the right mixture of grammar, conversation and working with text. Eliezer [the teacher] managed to keep our enthusiasm throughout the class!

About our trial lessons:
Thank you for giving me a very informative trial Yiddish session, I found it both satisfying and exciting. The teacher was encouraging and quickly helped me feel comfortable with the material we were using, he was professional and keen to help me learn and delivered practical feedback in a positive manner. I had an immense sense of achievement at the end of the lesson. I would definitely encourage anyone who has an interest in learning Yiddish to have a trial session.

As a descendent to Yisddish speaking grandparents I wanted to be able to speak with them in their native language. eYiddish.org seems to be a nice fit to me and I gave it a try. The logistics process was easy and I was ready in no time to sit down and learn. I liked the passion about the Yiddish that was coming from the instructor. I would also like to mention the knowledge demonstrated by the instructor.
